Crime
Although most of these days we hear about crimes of this city in the radio news, Calgary is a safe city. Every morning I listen to CBC news, ( it's better to say I wake up by CBC news! ) they talk about crime such as stealing, killing and I rarely hear about kidnapping. As they say, the places of crimes are usually in the down town and in specific times like mid nights or earliest time of mornings.
Calgary is safer than the city I grow up there. My city is a very crowded city. Unfortunately, there's a big social and economic gap between the rich and the poor; therefore, the number of crimes are more than here.
This is obvious that no one wants to be a victim because of that every one learns how to protect itself from crimes, by reading the police's information or by doing some defensive tasks.
Some people choose the place of home very carefully, Others don't stay out alone until midnight.
I always do all of them, but I believe nothing is predictable.

We occasionally have serious crimes here, but mostly they're not violent. Just like anywhere else in the world, you have to be aware of your surroundings when you're out at night.
